About The Role
Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

Ladbrokes Coral requires a strong Release Train Engineer to drive our Digital Sportsbook train. The RTE will form part of a highly engaged, strategic team who are focused on optimising the flow of customer value in the fast paced betting and gaming market.

As the "Scrum Master of Scrum Masters" for the Agile Release Train you will:

  • Facilitate Program Increment readiness through backlog preparation, Epic/Feature estimation and managing the Programme Kanban
  • Responsible for facilitating programme events such as PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, and the Scrum of Scrums.
  • Establish the annual calendars for sprints and Programme Increments
  • Facilitate programme level collaboration and execution, including coordination with other Release trains across the organisation
  • Aggregate and publish team objectives into Programme PI Objectives
  • Escalate and track impediments – remove bottlenecks where the teams cannot do it themselves
  • Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Business/other stakeholders and teams to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Help the programme understand, assess, and manage risk within the PI
  • Coach leaders, teams, Scrum Masters, etc., in Lean-Agile mind sets/practices and SAFe methodology.
  • Supports reporting/metrics for Digital PMO Portfolio Management team
  • Work closely with Delivery and Product across the Agile Release Train during the increments through keeping abreast of sprint progress against planned commitments and assisting in complex issue resolution.
  • Manage and track costs associated with the facilitation of the PI Planning event.
  • Champion continuous improvement and optimisation of the adoption of Agile with Scrum teams to enable effective sprint planning.
  • Identify and escalate strategic level bottlenecks to Digital Senior Leadership to pro-actively address and plan for longer term challenges/hurdles.
  • Maintain a productive network with key business stakeholders through regular collaboration and communication.

    Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • 3+ years of people management experience  
  • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) 
  • SAFe 4.0 certified preferred

Specialist Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven track record of SAFE software development/delivery.
  • Proven experience building relationships across all levels of the organization 
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized 
  • Strong servant leader able to lead and work with multiple diverse roles and personalities
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
  • Must excel working in team-oriented roles that rely on ability to collaborate with others
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills in lean and agile best practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at C-Level/Senior Director level
  • Ability to command a room and present confidently in front of anaudience of circa 200
  • Very strong planning skills, adept at identifying and managing dependencies across the Programme/Portfolio which may include those outside of their immediate remit
  • Effective Risk and Issue identification and management
