About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a mid-level Software Developer to join us at Stratford in development of systems that support trading functions. As a Software Developer, you will be a key member of a highly technical Agile development team, creating web-based software solutions for Trading, the engine room of a fast-paced and demanding business.

You will work on software development activities including requirements specification, software design at system and component levels, participation in design and code reviews, the development of code and related tests, bug fixing, performance optimisation, continuous integration and deployment to cloud containers and tasks related to the technical support of business critical 24/7 production systems.

As a member of a cross-functional Scrum team you will work closely with your peers to deliver product increments that meet the team’s Definition of Done. You will also collaborate with members of the wider Trading Delivery team and other IT and business teams as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis, Design, Development and Maintenance of UI and real time micro services running on the cloud.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to define deliverable requirements in accordance with agile development practices.
  • Develop using Test Driven Development methodologies using unit tests with mocking layers and integration tests.
  • Producing software releases from Jenkins and deploying them cloud environments as required by Business.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation using defined documentation standards
  • Investigation and correction of reported defects

Specialist Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ideally a minimum 4 years of c#.net development experience
  • Must have hands on experience with web development including Rest APIs and any javascript experience such as JQuery, Angular or Nodejs.
  • Experience working with development tools and practices including Git, XP, TDD, CI/CD.
  • Working experience of Agile software delivery using scrum methodology.
  • Experience in the betting industry an advantage but an understanding of sport is essential.
  • Self and fast learner.
  • Strong communications skills
  • Experience/Technical knowledge in the following products/technologies is essential:
    • OO programming
    • C#
    • Unit Testing (Nunit or any other testing libraries and mocking frameworks)
    • REST API
    • HTML, Java Script and CSS
    • Git
  • Experience/Technical knowledge in the following products/technologies would be highly desirable:
    • .Net Core
    • ASP.Net MVC
    • Angular 2 onwards
    • Microservice architecture
