About The Role

As Database Administrator, you are responsible for the end to end operational integrity and BAU service for Infrastructure Services across the Ladbrokes Coral Group, with a focus on Database technologies.

Responsibilities include:
Responsible for the Management and Maintenance of the Ladbrokes Coral Database environment , including Performance Monitoring, Backup, Security patching and performance optimisation.
Provide second and third line technical support for internal and external customer issues.
Execute planned “business as usual” Infrastructure service requests within a published timeframe
Resolve IDatabase related technical issues
Look to eliminate manual activities by through automation
Support 24X7 operations by participating in the out of hours support rota
Responsible for operationalising all new integrated hosting and Infrastructure platforms
Producing monthly metric reporting on the platforms performance & capacity
Responsible for platform adherence to the published incident, problem and change policies.
Support Service Quality teams in incident resolution and problem solving
Support 24x7 Infrastructure services improvements to ensure MTTR is optimised
 
 
You will have the following:

     Strong Experience of managing and supporting Informix database administration versions 11.50, 11.70 and 12.10

     Experience managing large-scale, global high availability, mission-critical infrastructure services (including hosting, public and private cloud offerings)

     Working Knowledge of Linux

     Working knowledge of load-balancing technologies

     Working knowledge of Storage Area Networks

     Good understanding of networking

     Proven experience in designing and delivering technical solutions that address commercial problems.  

     Developed interpersonal skills

     Must have a solid understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles, practices and processes in providing and managing the delivery of a large scale, enterprise-wide service

     Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to transform technical knowledge into business language
