To operationally direct a team of Ladbrokes and Coral Area Managers in the development & delivery of Service & Standards with a focus on delivering profit through people, both in terms of colleagues & customers.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop & propose an annual business plan for the sub-region that will support the overall regional plan
  • Implement the approved business plan by ensuring visibility of  leadership in shops to meet all objectives & financial, people, operational & service based targets
  • To lead & deliver the Regional ‘People Plan’ which focuses on engaging, developing & optimising the output of all human resources in sub-region
  • To coach, engage and motivate colleagues, securing the delivery of  talent, development & succession plans across the sub-region ensuring a pipeline of high performing talent at all times
  • To provide effective leadership, development & performance management across the sub - region ensuring that performance management targets are met & remedial and supportive action is taken quickly where performance falls short
  • Monitor ongoing process & continuous improvement activity driven by achieving & exceeding customer expectation, delivering on service and standards
  • Continually seek & promote innovative ways of delivering the Gross Win and NGR in order to maximise profitability, both in the short & long term
  • Manage all cost lines (particularly  personnel costs) within the budget & ensure all margin protection processes are implemented effectively to maximise profitability
  • Take the appropriate action to ensure the consistent delivery of the required ROI through upgrades, transfers & new licences
  • Ensure that all activity within the sub-region complies with the requirements of the Gambling Commission, local authorities,  the Company’s operating licence and Health & Safety, in order to minimise risk & protect both customers & the reputation of the business
  • Communicate with impact, pitching at the right level, to ensure that all messages & strategies are understood and successfully implemented by Area Managers & Shop Managers.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Excellent people management skills and an ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
  • Substantial experience of, and the ability to work in, a multi-site betting/leisure/retail/hospitality environment within a Middle Management capacity.
  • A strong track record of managing multi-site estate driving profit, growth and brand.
  • Experience of building, managing and leading, high-performance teams with a strong track record of performance management.
  • Ability to develop cross-functional and cross-border relationships effectively and quickly. 
  • Ability to demonstrate directive and inspirational leadership skills whilst being a team player.
  • Strong demonstrable communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to develop a strong and practical set of controls and processes.
