About The Role
Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

To assist the Racing team to maintain the integrity of greyhound racing at all times whilst supporting the Company in its objectives by the delivery of the required betting margin and to help deliver the best possible greyhound racing for on-course and off-course markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Racing team on delivering the most competitive racing product possible to deliver the required betting margin for the Company and competitors;
  • Completion of administrative procedures for the Racing team, both manually and on-line to include but not limited to; the generation of race results, prize money, license applications, registrations, ownership, season dating and retirement of greyhounds;
  • Organise, supervise and record the outcome of trial sessions and produce records of trial sessions;
  • Ensure that all greyhound ID books are filed correctly and arrange and prepare for race and trial meetings by ensuring that all relevant books are present before kenneling;
  • Assist kennel sessions and ensure that all greyhounds are identified, weighed and scanned before racing;
  • Input data correct into the database during racing when required, including recording race times and photo finishes during racing;
  • Assist in greyhound registrations and have a full understanding of what is required;
  • Produce reports for the Deputy Racing Manager when necessary;
  • Update the Commercial team with information when necessary, for example owners contact information and upcoming race events.
  • Ensure that the relevant programmes are sent weekly to GBGB;
  • Ensure all racing office data is kept up to date and organised;
  • Assist the Racing office administrator will all admin tasks when required;
  • Act as a GBGB licensed Steward during race meetings;
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests made by the Deputy Racing Manager and Racing Manager.
Health & Safety and Compliance Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all equipment and areas used by the racing team is safe and is compliant with manufacturer’s guidelines for operation, reporting any concerns to the Racing Manager.
Additional Information
Accountabilities 
  • You are required to follow the Managers Briefs (MB), Work Instruction Notices (WIN), or Stadia Operating Procedures (SOP) that are relevant to your role. These can be found on the company Intranet. 
  • The company may also communicate ad hoc notifications through line managers and notice boards - these will also form a part of your health and safety responsibilities.
Qualifications and Training Requirements: 
  • A-Level or equivalent is preferred
  • GBGB License Holder
Specialist Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience of working within a track racing office;
  • Knowledge and understanding of greyhound racing and stakeholders interest within the greyhound industry;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programmes and packages including Excel and Word and computer literacy for use of uniform industry racing programme(s).
