About The Role
Short description
  • The role holder will play a key role in the HSSE team at GVC by delivering core health and safety functions to support achieving the objectives of GVC’s HSSE Strategy and contribute to continuous improvement
  • To support the delivery of plans across the GVC portfolio using professional Heath and Safety knowledge, supporting the teams across the business with clear, timely and decisive guidance, information and solutions to H&S matters.
  • To support an effective health and safety service to GVC
Key Requirements
  • Manage the HSSE incident and near miss reporting, action tracking and close out system.
  • Manage the HSSE management system documentation including compliance related documentation.
  • Deliver regular reports on HSSE performance indicators as required. The reports must give analysis and recommendations to assist in improving performance levels.
  • Coordinate the HSSE internal and external audit and inspection program plus monitor and communicate any recommendations and actions arising.
  • Regularly monitor HSSE incident data entries to ensure expectations for inputting and investigation are met. Also, ensure outstanding actions and close out of all reports have been undertaken.
  • Be the lead Display Screen Equipment, (DSE), assessor and oversee program to ensure compliance with DSE regulations
  • Maintain the HSSE Intranet site as required by the Head of Health & Safety, Well-being Manager and Environment Manager
  • Collate HSSE specific data and information for external reporting as directed by the Environment Manager, Well-Being Manager and Head of H&S.
  • Support the Environment Manager to ensure the RMS (Risk Management System) meets external HSSE requirements and standards to retain ISO14001, OHSAS 45001 and other HSSE standards to which the business subscribes.
  • To ensure that all systems and procedures introduced by the company are effectively implemented and adhered to
  • Responsible for personal compliance with Health and Safety, Security and Environment Policies, ensuring working practices minimise risks to self, work colleagues, customers, staff and the environment
  • To participate in projects and working parties and to carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development, or as may be reasonably required by the company
  • Maintain and help deliver an engagement and internal communications strategy for HSSE in a form which is risk focused but accessible for all colleagues
Key Skills & Education
  • IOSH Managing Safely or a basic understanding of the Health and Safety at work Act 1974 is desirable
  • Good understanding on how to use MS Office Suite 
  • Good report writing skills 
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to identify significant or emerging trends
  • Experience with developing presentation packs in MS Powerpoint
  • Ability to manage their own time and workload
  • Willing to undergo further development and training
