About The Role

Purpose of Role: 

The Head of Commercial Performance is a very influential, high calibre commercial role, based in GVC’s Digital Gaming Team in London. Joining a very data driven business, the ideal candidate will have senior KPI experience within a Online Digital industry and will be driving the business insights for the gaming operation reporting to the Casino Marketing Director.

The candidate will oversee monitoring and improving the overall performance of one of our key business verticals. He/She will also play a pivotal role in decision making, by coordinating the overall financial view of the vertical including marketing cost control, revenue forecasts and P&L tracking. This is a highly dynamic role with the challenges to understand the numbers, analyse behavioural trends and give business recommendations to the entire gaming community.

Key areas:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly performance tracking for the Casino operations and P&L division summarizing the activities in three 3 casino operating units
  • Casino P&L management incl. marketing cost control for all acquisition channels
  • Budgeting and re-forecasting
  • Customer lifecycle and promotional evaluation support for all 3 operating units
  • Initiating more complex analytical projects with Central insights team
  • Overall bonus cost control/bonus optimization/risk assessment

Primary Responsibilities:

Daily, weekly and monthly performance tracking:

  • Coordinating daily, weekly and monthly management and analysis of the key KPI’s with casino unit performance heads and develop action points. This is very critical in our fast paced digital business.
  • Interpret data and develop recommendations based on insights
Budgeting and P&L monitoring:
  • Budget creation and control, including re-forecasting
  • Monthly P&L analysis
  • Liaise with financial business partner to give Casino Marketing Director executive overview
  • Responsible for end of month P&L meetings
  • Monitor marketing costs for all units and channels
  • Identify segments and opportunities for promotional activities
  • Analyse promotions and give recommendations to the operations team
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in customer behaviour and liaise with customer focusing departments
  • Initiative complex marketing data projects with Central insights team
  • Monitor overall bonus costs and recommend optimisation plans
  • Working with Gaming and BI piers to challenge status quo, aiming for continuous performance improvements
  • Collaborating with Data Science teams to drive change towards intelligent decision automation

Knowledge/Expertise/Qualifications:

  • We’re looking for an experienced professional that has a proven track record across commercial strategy, marketing strategy, and product strategy in a FTSE250 (or equivalent) company.
  • We expect the candidate to have 10-15 years’ experience in total, including at least 5 years working in a Performance/Commercial Analysis role of a FTSE 250 company (or the equivalent)
  • We're looking for a dynamic individual with a track record in building and managing high performing teams
  • Someone who has experience of leading large teams in previous roles; and has proven strategies to organise and structure teams to achieve operational efficiency
  • An experienced growth hacker with a stellar track record of driving exponential growth, across multiple markets, for world renowned internet businesses.
  •  Smart, creative, bold and daring, but at the same time highly data-driven and analytical. Experience in a highly commercial environment is key, with a profound understanding of growth metrics and KPIs, and strong instincts for where the greatest gains, at the fastest speed, may be made.
  • Comfortable with high-level, strategic thinking, and hands-on implementation, with close attention to detail. You will have no tolerance for mediocrity and will constantly be raising the bar. You will have a collaborative, open style that fosters participation and widespread contribution of ideas.
