About The Role
Short description
The Group Financial Accountant is part of the team that has overall responsibility for all internal consolidated statutory reporting including the Group P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow. 

The statutory reporting team will also assist divisional finance teams in ensuring Group policies have been adopted appropriately, assessing appropriate accounting treatments and supporting the Head of Statutory Reporting in the assessment of the quality of the divisional Balance Sheet control 
Key Requirements
  • To assist in the monthly consolidation process, including dealing with divisional reporting packages, reconciling intercompany accounts, reviewing/preparing balance sheet account notes and performing investigation/reconciliation work on large/unusual movements.
  • To be responsible for the monthly postings for several small subsidiary companies. Postings will include ad hoc infrequent general ledger transactions and monthly responsibilities including balance sheet reconciliations and consolidation reporting pack submissions.
  • To be responsible for monitoring the intercompany accounting across a large group of entities, split across different geographies and transacting in numerous currencies. This will include reconciling the intercompany balances at month end and liaising with divisions throughout the month to clear differences.
  • To assist in the year end audit including preparing working papers, answering audit queries, liaising with other divisional teams and assisting in preparing the Group financial statements.
  • To provide assistance on the preparation of subsidiary accounts, including the roll forward of prior year accounts, preparation of the extended trial balance and completion of the subsidiary accounts, including where relevant the support to external auditors during their subsidiary accounts audit.
  • To assist in the completion of ad hoc group work and project work. 
Key Skills & Education
  • Qualified accountant (ACA)
  • Advanced FRS101/102 and IFRS knowledge 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of Oracle R12 and/ or Oracle Fusion
