About The Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Sportsbook (Coral), you will be responsible for the organisation of programmes/activities/initiatives for the Coral Sportsbook business. You’ll be tasked with developing programmes to support the organisation’s commercial objectives, strategic direction and managing and the subsequent tracking of long-term goals. The role will include all aspects of communication, dependency management, risks/issues management and programme benefits realisation within Coral Sportsbook.

A successful candidate will have prior experience in both programme management, team management and experience of undergoing business change and managing highly complex change programmes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and designing business change project/programme(s) and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
  • Apply structured methodology and lead programme & business initiative activities, applying change management processes and framework to create a strategy to support the adoption of the initiatives required
  • Developing budgets and operating plans for new initiatives and manage aspects of resourcing to ensure thorough tracking and delivery
  • Meeting with key business stakeholders across a variety of business teams to ensure thorough & transparent communication on project decisions.
  • Encourages communication and collaboration across the business, team and stakeholders in order to build strong relationships and develop cross functional working
  • Direct the work of all stakeholders engaged within business projects/initiatives and leadership of the wider programme
  • Analysing and assessment of known risks that could impact the Sportsbook Marketing/Operations function(s) and ensure that plans are created to mitigate risk and maximise the opportunities that these projects/changes/initiatives present.
  • Produce timely and accurate reporting of project statuses identifying data & research requirements that feed into the project objectives.
  • Works with Sportsbook Director and individual department Heads of to ensure programme dependencies are managed, deliver commercial benefits and records a thorough review to develop progress going forward. This will include engaging with Customer Research functions.
  • Works with other business stakeholders to identify risks/opportunities against regular business activities that does not form part of the project/programme
  • Sharing lessons or best practice with other organisational brands and/or project managers.[GC1][PA2]
  • A senior figure that mentors and develops business teams by identifying individuals' strengths/weaknesses providing development & coaching and other people policies as required ensuring the team engaged within a project is motivated, productive and fully accountable
  • An inspiring leader that provides leadership and direction to the business and embedding a culture where continuous improvement is embraced
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • Prince 2 Practitioner, APM or similar professional Project Manager qualification
  •  Preferred – An Agile Project Management qualification, Scrum Master, SAFE or equivalent
Specialist Skills and Experience Required
  • Recent & relevant experience of project management approaches, tools and phases of a project lifecycle utilising both internal and 3rd party resource
  • Proved evidence of successfully delivering and embedding significant change
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated and fast moving industry and large scale organisational efforts
  • Gaming or Digital industry experience would be preferable
  • A strong interest in sports and betting would be advantageous but not essential
  • Experience of delivering real-time marketing platforms would be advantageous
  • Ability to work with a Programme PMO on governance reporting - budgets / milestones / dependencies / risks / issues
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal capable of influencing senior stakeholders in writing business cases and shaping strategic change
  • Needs to be able demonstrate End to End Project Management across multiple work-streams with full financial responsibility. This must include delivery into a business function and not just pure IT delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at C-Level/Senior Director level and able to work effectively at all levels of the organisation
  • Able to use an appropriate delivery methodology as appropriate, Waterfall, Agile etc
  • Proven planning and dependency management skills able to prioritise across a number of complex workstreams and initiatives
  • Effective Risk and Issue identification and management
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organisational issues/challenges.
  • Superb analytical and Problem Solving and root cause identification skills
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach to ensure that new ideas are given due consideration
  • Strong ownership mindset with a can do and proactive attitude.
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
