About The Role

AI/ML Grandstand Developer

Title: Java Developer  

Grandstand is an in-house product delivering real time marketing capabilities to our CRM team. It has gone from POC to a core piece of technology used by the business on sporting events 24x7. It’s evolution has seen it go from a manual tool to having fully automated functionality incorporating ML/AI technologies to ensure we are contacting the right customers with our marketing campaigns. We are looking for a passionate ML Python Developer to join our existing team who are working on an exciting and evolving programme which delivers real-time marketing capabilities. You will collaborate daily with other developers to expand and improve our current ML functionality and work to deliver elegant solutions as well as troubleshoot issues as they arises.

Key responsibilities:

● Team player happy to work with both on and offshore teams

● Excellent problem solving skills

● Be the product champion/expert for our AI/ML functionality leading the technical evolution of these tools.

● Optimise applications for maximum speed and scalability.

● Investigate, troubleshoot and perform detailed root cause analysis of issues that may occur in live systems.

● Undertake performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability and automations duties.

● Participate in brainstorming and open discussions to evolve the application.

● Integrate multiple data sources and databases.

● Ability to communicate well with product owners and stakeholders.

Experience:

● 2+ years of Python development experience in a commercial environment

● Familiarity of Python scientific stack.

● 2+ years of exposure to cloud based environments, ideally AWS.

● 2+ years of software engineering using large datasets

● Previous exposure to a variety of development methodologies, test automation tools and frameworks.

● Exposure of working in tight deadlines to meet sprint commitments.

● Experience of performing peer code reviews with other team members.

● Commercial exposure to Git and CI/CD practices

● Knowledge of Deep Neural Networks

● Any experience with recommendation engines highly beneficial Technical Skills and Qualifications:

● BA in computer science or similar relevant field

● Solid experience with Python and Python libraries such as pandas (PyData).

● In-depth knowledge of ETL systems processing large datasets using Spark/AWS Glue

● Familiarity of the AWS toolset namely SageMaker, Athena, ECS, S3

● Understanding of Airflow Workflows

● Exposure to Jupyter Notebooks highly beneficial

● Any previous experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate useful

● Experience of version control (GitHub, CVS, SVN)

● Competencies in REST & SOAP APIs.

● Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL

● Clear understanding of source control management.

● Strong understanding of Agile methodology and TDD principles.

● Familiarity with Jenkins and Docker.
