About The Role

Purpose of role

Working as a conduit between Trading and Finance teams with a focus on business partnering you will represent Trading’s voice as a stakeholder in financial planning, review, critique and reporting while delivering continuous reporting and insight internal to Trading.

Based in the Trading Analysis team, you will support the Trading function with financial analysis, reporting, phasing plans, scenario modelling, insight and innovation.  With a focus on supporting Trading’s key metrics you will assess risks and opportunities to refine the group’s trading plans and will be the point of contact for all Finance matters relating to Trading.

Key responsibilities

·      Co-ordinate weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews of trading performance to Trading management and to wider audiences on occasion

·      Immersive understanding of the drivers of margin and trading performance and absolute fluency in communicating these to senior audiences

·      Provide challenge and insight to the business

·      Own and co-ordinate Trading’s contribution to the forecasting, phasing & budget processes and provide support to the strategic planning process

·      Identify risks in revenue projections and propose corrective courses of action

·      Consult and identify on revenue optimization opportunities

·      Continuously benchmark trading performance against competitors and overlay with insightful narrative

·      Work with peers within the Group to share knowledge, ideas and best practice to drive improvements in analysis and reporting

·      Provide general support/cover within Trading Analysis on an ad hoc basis

·      Supply Trading with expected KPI calculations both predictive and retrospective through modelling tools and determining EV at the most granular level – reverse engineering event result impacts 

·      Establishing the reporting infrastructure to self-serve and be sufficiently resourceful to problem solve basic data handling challenges

Qualifications

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

Essential skills: 

·         Business partnering experience in a large organization

·         Strong experience of working with departments outside your immediate team

·         Strong numeracy and analytical skills

·         Ability to build relationships quickly

·         Budgetary control experience

·         Strong excel skills

Desired:

·         Sportsbook/gaming background

·         Experience working with or within a Finance Department

·         Knowledge of BI systems

·         Intermediate/Advanced SQL skills with experience in data extraction & analysis

·         Good communication skills, written & verbal
