About The Role

Within GVC’s Central Data & Insight team you will be part of a team of data engineers, data stewards, analysts driving high-profile strategic and operational initiatives, delivering data solutions, marketing and business insights, and making recommendations for short and long-term decisions.

This will require you to query the data warehouse (and other sources) to extract and prepare behavioural and transactional datasets in preparation for reporting and analysis. You will work with large data sets and help build, maintain and optimise data sources. You will also be required to understand user requirements, design data schemas and distribute regular reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare data for standard reporting, insights, predictive and prescriptive modelling by querying the data warehouse or using reporting resources available
Build dashboards in Tableau as per business specifications
Own the Tableau site administration and governance
Build, maintain and optimise data sources on the Tableau server
Work with the data team on utilising the latest developments in Tableau to improve data source and dashboard performance
Develop, construct, test and maintain data architectures
Translate business requirements into technical ones
Set business requirements for BI tools as well as identify the tool that is best suited for the requirement
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements with the data team: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, data sanity checks, keeping data fresh etc.
Create technical documentation for BI tools.
Identify and help implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
Provide technical support and training for BI reports, dashboards, and tools to end users
Liaise with data warehouse on data requirements from business

Specialist skills and experience:

Experience in visualisation tools like Tableau or similar
Proficient in the use of SQL and programming languages (such as python)
Database experience including experience in coding across commercial databases
Must have a mathematical background or have worked in an analytical role previously
Logical approach to problem solving
Familiarity with eGaming KPIs, terminology and business model is an advantage
Ability to understand complex multi-level data and make them performant
Self-driven investigative skills (knows tools, knows how to use them when and how to create a certain result), high maturity level in self (time) management
Ability to turn complex concepts and business questions into actionable data.
An ability to deliver high quality work under pressure of tight deadlines.
Strong communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
