About The Role

The BI Support Services engineer will provide services with respect to the LadbrokesCoral BI retail data warehouse, systems, application support and execute a high standard of day to day operational duties within the Retail BI team.

As a team member, the engineer will be responsible for tasks involving BI systems monitoring and application support, optimisation and continuous improvements, production defect management, incident management, adhoc data requests and stakeholder communication.

Primary Responsibilities:
BI Systems and Application support
  • Support of the LadbrokesCoral Retail BI Data Warehouse and reporting systems
  • Monitoring of all data pipelines and flows of data from source systems, to the data warehouse, reporting/analytical layers and Tabular models
  • Handling business stakeholder requests and queries
  • Set up access for reports, dashboards and analytics
  • Schedule and track generations of reports and model refreshes
  • Ad-hoc data/report creation requests
  • Continuous improvements and Query Optimization
  • Data or scheduled issues
  • Follow incident management process
Incident Management 
  • Record, track and update accepted Incidents within LadbrokesCoral service management system
  • Communication, interaction and escalation with internal and external stakeholders, companies and other service providers to deliver effective Incident closure
  • Deliver effective and consistent communication to the Exec team, key stakeholders, external and third party teams.
  • Daily load monitoring and resolving issues to enable on-time availability of data, reports and dashboards.
  • Monitor and acknowledge production alerts
  • Manage and deploy releases
  • Follow release management process
  • Share continuous updates with the business users on incident progress
  • Provide root cause Analysis(RCA) for high priority incidents
  • Weekly service review report with summary of SLAs
  • Familiarity with Web Technologies and online gaming products
  • Should be a team player
Qualifications and educational requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education
Specialist Skills and experience required 
The candidate should have good strong experience in handling Data Warehousing monitoring and Data Integration Projects involving various ETL and BI tools
The candidate should be proficient in ETL on all aspects of design, development and administration.
The candidate should have good experience in working Databases like Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server and Hadoop
Highly skilled in all aspects of SQL and PL/SQL
Linux / Linux Operating Systems, Shell Scripting
Strong Python experience.
Knowledge of multi-tier, high availability, cloud and on premise data engineering solutions in a complex multi-cloud, multi-site enterprise environment
Demonstrable experience of ETL technologies like ODI, Informatica, Airflow and SSAS.
Desirable to have some exposure to Hadoop HDFS, SQL Server, MDS, Hive and Presto
Data Modelling
Working with big data sets
High attention to detail and appreciates the importance of data integrity
Experience of being a highly motivated self-starter
Working in an Agile Environment
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
A good understanding of BI Reporting, Modelling and Analytics using technologies like SSAS Tabular Modelling and PowerBI would be advantageous.
