About The Role

Working as part of the Global Procurement Team responsible you will be expected to influence £Multi Million spend across multiple categories for Online and Offline Marketing (Creative Agencies, Brand/PR, Digital, Sponsorship, Print etc.). 

The key purpose of this role is to optimise 3rd party Marketing spend through the delivery of identified benefits and the creation of short/mid/long-term value optimisation strategies aligned to the objectives of the business. 
 
Role Objectives:
Become the “go to” person for commercially related matters regarding the specific marketing categories. 
Obtain a holistic view of the spend and supplier base across the group (markets/brands) and identify relevant synergies.
Maintain excellent and valuable relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Create a category strategy identifying synergies, processes improvements and cost reduction initiatives as well as ensuring commercial tension across all areas of spend and a clear roadmap of activity based on contract expiry dates and business needs.

This will specifically include:
Review spend across the group and analyse supplier base and business requirements.
Identify and lead all content projects ensuring they are delivered on time and target are achieved.
Engagement and regular catch ups with local and international stakeholders to understand requirements and strategies, identify opportunities, align goals, share best practices and review spend. 
Build a cutting-edge knowledge of the supply base, market trends and provide value adding insights to the content community 
Understand critical areas for Innovation and build a pipeline of opportunities to be shared with the supplier community 
Develop and conduct Rfx’s when needed ensuring size and complexity are fit for purpose
Regular meetings with key suppliers and support key supplier management strategies to drive improved performance across the supply base
Resolve issues with suppliers related to service scope, performance, regulation or finance and maintain on-going monitoring with core partners via QBRS. 
Operate agile and effective commercial processes 
Managing contract expiry, termination, extension and renewals
Supporting the implementation of the procurement strategy and policy
 
Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Degree level education or equivalent in Business Studies
MCIPS procurement qualification
 
Specialist Skills and Experience Required

An experienced procurement professional with a minimum of 5 years in procurement with at least 12 to 18 months of previous experience in the Marketing category preferably in an Online and retail business within a regulated sector.
Experience with offline and digital media, partnerships/sponsorships and creative
Outstanding / Excellent verbal and communication skills and the ability to present and summarise a business case to an Executive audience 
Excellent understanding and management of RFI’s, RFP’s, RFQ’s and Agreements 
Excellent skills evaluating or monitoring contract performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations
Experience developing and using metrics to manage the procurement process 
Operates at the highest level of integrity
Commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills
The ability to build and maintain business relationships, both internal and external
Fluency in English is required, but working knowledge of Spanish, German, Italian or Portuguese would also be a plus.
