Become Scrum Master at GVC and develop cutting edge applications for millions of customers around the globe.

The main purpose of this role is to plan releases/sprints with the scrum teams and deliver software as planned. Guide several scrum teams according to the standards GVC has chosen and take responsibility for the Scrum Process. The scrum master interacts with the whole value chain, like product management, development, test, database, operations for delivering software on production systems.

Your Arena:

  •  Guide cross-functional scrum teams (feature teams) according to the Scrum Framework
    • Coordinate scrum team activities
    • Ensure transparency of the scrum teams resources and their activities by actively reporting on sprint progress, risks and issues
    • Ensure technical dependencies and planning dependencies are managed
    • Ensure impediments are resolved
    • Ensure communication and alignment with depending (scrum) teams and departments
    • Facilitate the team meetings
    • Shield the team in sprint execution
    • Escalate and drive decision-making in case of endangered sprint scope / necessary scope changes
  • Partner for Product Owner/Line Management
    • Act as a competent contact person (consultant) for Product Owner
    • Constantly review (and improve) cooperation with Product Owner and other stakeholders
    • Align the message to the teams with the Engineering managers
    • Consult the Engineering managers on sprint / team matters
    • Give feedback about team members to Engineering manager (e.g. give input on development needs, collaboration in the team, performance appraisal)
  • Coach/grow self-organized team(s) and constantly improve effectivity and team spirit
    • Grow self-organized team
    • Help team to build the team spirit
    • Help the team to setup its rules/remind team of (their own) rules
    • Train new team members in scrum/agile "culture"
    • Spread the agile values/spirit (team and stakeholders)
    • Ensure efficient retrospective meetings and learnings are getting adopted
  • Review and improve the organization’s lean and agile thinking with other members of the agile community of practice.
  • Ensure team knowledge is efficiently shared and reused
Your Entrance Ticket:
  • Sound technical or commercial education and relevant work experienced
  • Certified Scrum Master with working experience
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to facilitate meetings and technical workshops efficiently
  • Communicative, collaborative personality with hands-on mentality
  • Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potential
  • Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Decision making ability, excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to understand business as well as technical needs and to act accordingly
  • Excellent English skills (corporate language)
  • Positive attitude towards the company
  • High level of positive energy
