About The Role

We are looking for a Junior/Graduate JavaScript Programmer to join our in house games team. This role will be based within our in-house development studio based in Oldham, Greater Manchester.

Our CR Games team develop gaming products for our global online sites and retail shops, these include Slot Games, Scratch Cards and Reactor Games. Our games are some of the best in the market with innovative concepts and new features; player experience is at the heart of what we do.

Key Responsibilities

Part of your responsibilities will include;

  • Work with existing designs and products to transform and reproduce them for the mobile market.

    You will work with the design team, to take existing Retail based products and replicate the functionality and feel for the online market. You will be responsible for making key decisions in the development process, to ensure that there are comparable functions and features available on a mobile device.

  • Work closely with the design team to produce new and exciting products for a global market.

    You will take a design specification and produce a brand new game. You will be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product is polished, and well developed. You will be working closely with the Graphics team, to ensure their vision is brought to life in the product you’re developing.

  • Work with the QA and Operations team to deliver products through the development process to required timelines.
You would work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure your developed products are fit for purpose, delivered to meet the quality standards and compliance requirements of the company.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong JavaScript skills
  • Good working knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • Modern IDE usage (Visual Studio, WebStorm, IntelliJ, etc.)
  • Some experience with source control software (Perforce, Git, SVN, etc.)
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Work well within strict development guidelines

Candidate Preferences

  • Working knowledge of web development
  • Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Portfolio showcasing key projects or work undertaken
  • Strong knowledge of both ECMAScript 5th Edition and ES2015 JavaScript standards
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Gulp.js, Babel, Yarn, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Node.js ecosystem
  • Knowledge of UI based JavaScript frameworks (Node.js, Vue.js, etc.)
  • Understanding of C/C++
