About The Role

Part of the Central Insight, Data & Analytics group at GVC, you will lead and carry out strategic insight projects and help explore and leverage GVC’s data assets to gain a deeper understanding of what our customers value and how we should adjust to meet the changing landscape across all our digital brands.

You will lead the implementation of customer insight for our wide range of markets and products. Direct and manage systems and reporting to allow understanding of products and customers and in supporting key marketing and product strategy decisions.

This role will enable strategic planning by providing in-depth analysis, to identify new opportunities for the continued success and growth of GVC as it pursues its vision. Outcomes are delivered through collaboration with various business owners to determine and meet their insights requirements.

It involves working with the Central Digital team, Digital Performance team, CRM, CEX, Advanced Analytics team, Reporting team, Research team, and Regional marketing and BI teams in addition to data teams and external vendors.

You will be responsible for mentoring and managing a team of analysts, ensuring they deliver top-quality work against established analytics best practices while at the same time, providing them an avenue of growth for their own skill expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage ambiguity

  • Understand complex business problems across business units, geographies and product lines to create hypotheses and translate this into analysis requirements and identify meaningful insights that help GVC

Deliver results

  • Direct and Manage the work on establishing and reporting key Marketing and Product KPIs and performance across the organization.
  • Responsible for the senior level reporting on Products, Content and Customer Usage Behaviour (including board level presentations).
  • Become the key point of contact for Customer Insights across the group, including external communication on marketing and performance
  • Provide high quality strategic analysis and insight to support Marketing strategy and Product decisions
  • Lead insight projects, including: scope alignment with regional and central stakeholders, design, data collection, data analysis, recommendations and presenting results to senior management
  • Projects will be across Marketing which includes Customer Experience, Acquisition, CRM, Customer Performance, Sports, Gaming etc
  • Develop and tell compelling analytical stories (that are succinct in their explanation of data / insight, resonate emotionally and demonstrate business relevance) that demand action
  • Ensuring that as far as possible customer insight / KPI MI generation is scaled, automated, visualised to drive engagement and rapidly disseminated
  • Support the business teams with ad hoc insights

Stakeholder management

  • Build strong relations with stakeholders to understand priorities, define the roadmap and to collaborate and work with them on programs and actions to improve our customers experience
  • Comprehensively report on prioritization and project status to leadership team and stakeholders on a regular basis ensuring progress tracking, removal of blockers and resolution of escalated issues.
  • Educate client stakeholders on best practices and proper use of digital data and analytics to help them make informed decisions


  • Support hiring and onboarding of new team members and contribute to our high performing culture
  • Develop a trained, high performing, motivated and empowered team.
  • Enable internal and external analytics teams with domain, systems knowledge and productionise their analytics into our data systems

  • Drive continuous improvement for our global team; Partner with colleagues across the globe to identify areas for collaboration and best practices
  • Ensure that Analyst standards are clearly defined and consistently used across the team (e.g. analytical methodologies and visualization) and are aligned with the broader analytics community best practices.
Specialist Skills and Experience:
  • Degree or equivalent in quantitative area (Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science)
  • Robust quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and good business acumen
  • Commercially curious with natural desire to be connected with the commercial agenda of the business
  • Experience in creating and presenting analysis with insights to stakeholders/clients, utilizing advanced storytelling skills
  • Experience in Digital data, Web analytics, A/B testing
  • Robust knowledge of all elements of CRM and CX management including use of behavioural customer segmentations
  • Very strong technology, data and analytics skills
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and scripting for analysis (e.g. Python, R) and experience working with relational databases, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Knowledge of Visualisation tools ie. Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience of delivering insight/analytics initiatives within a complex and multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Proven collaboration ability; can effectively working across multiple stakeholder groups, cross-functional groups, departments and leadership teams
  • Proven experience of setting up and running an insight team that has created demonstrable change through the commercial use of insight/data driven outputs
  • Minimum 3 years in a team leadership position
  • Experience of dealing with internal and external stakeholders and an ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and data visualization with experience creating clear, concise and professional documents
  •  Effective problem solving skills, industry knowledge, high degree of initiative
