Life + Work in Vienna
We’re located close to the city centre within a great shopping environment and extremely close to the city's well-developed public transport network. Our office has people from all around the world and English is our official language.
All of our six floors have kitchens that offer free coffee and tea. The 7th floor is our community area with a big roof terrace that has seen many parties and events.
The diversity of our people makes our Vienna location so successful: our highly skilled developers, our creative and crazy marketing guys and our well-serving customer service teams all ensure that bwin stays on top of the game.
Punctuality is very important to the Austrians, so make sure you’re on time for meetings or social occasions.
Vienna is a very clean city with hardly any littering, and there’s recycling and waste bins situated in numerous locations across the city.
If you go out for a drink with colleagues, it’s customary to toast everyone with a raised glass the cry of “Prost!” and make sure to tip when you leave the bar or restaurant.
As you might expect from the home of Mozart, Vienna loves its classical music.
The Staatsoper is one of the world’s premier opera houses, and The Vienna Boys Choir regularly perform at the Burgkapelle chapel. The Konzerthaus complex plays host to classical, rock and jazz performances, and the intimate Miles Smiles jazz venue is a real favourite and full of character.
For cinema lovers, the Metro Kinokulturhaus houses Austria's national film archive and has a restored cinema screening home-grown films, and the retro feel of the Gartenbaukino matches the art-house films it specialises in.
Vienna offers plenty for theatre-goers too, with Burgtheater, one of the most important theatres in the German-speaking world, or for something lighter the Marionetten Theater has puppet shows that all ages can enjoy.
