Charmaine Daley Customer Service Manager, Dagenham

Charmaine has been in our industry for many years, and joined GVC in 2018 when wanting to return to work in a part-time role after having had children. With a supportive management structure and a real healthy work-life balance, Charmaine really enjoys her Customer Service Manager (CSM), role and everything that comes with it.

Charmaine is intent on defining and extending the boundaries of the CSM role and has been part of several exciting projects in the 14 months that she has been with us. This includes focus groups at Head Office, starring in E-learning videos, and internal communications films and photoshoots. In addition to these exciting projects, Charmaine continues to be a pivotal person in her shop, training new team members and providing support to her team members. Charmaine's line manager refers to her as a "real wing-woman"

Charmaine enjoys a strong relationship with her customers and feels encouraged and even inspired by her managers, something she’s not always felt in other companies. Key for Charmaine however is the support for her to be not only the best Mum but also the best employee. This aides her in her quest to be redefine the role of a CSM and to reverse some of the negative attitudes that come with the industry.

The best thing about my job is my customers – they brighten up my day. Our shop is a community, we all know everyone that comes in. We’re a part of something bigger and that’s what I love about it. I do what’s right for my customers – whether that’s talking to them about responsible gambling or just keeping them company.

Charmaine knows that there are endless opportunities at GVC and is testament to someone going out there and doing what's right in the organisation, for their colleagues and their customers. For the good of entertainment.
